Who doesn't LOVE the "Awkward" Stage?

Looking back at your old pictures, don't we all have a few that just seem a bit "awkward"? Don't get me wrong, I love this kid to death--but most times when I am trying to listen to what he is telling me, I cannot focus on anything but his front permanent tooth! You've all seen them. You've all had them. I think it's what happens between ages 7-12?? The tooth is about 4 times larger than the others and it is just there. All I can do while he is telling me about his day... is just Smile Big right back at him! I LOVE IT!

Dad says us Furness girls have big front teeth. (So it may be in the genes)
We LOVE Carter's smile right now.

Not even that bad at all. Do you remember Tyler at that age? His teeth seemed to be taking over his whole head...no, his whole body. Now they fit in so nicely but when you are a little kid those big, permanent teeth do stick out. Carter still looks so cute though.

This post made me giggle! You are right, we do all know this stage and all of our kids are heading for it! Just hope that he doesn't end up with a HUGE gap (like i had)!
He is a cute kid and one of the funniest kids I know! Now, let's get that other one to move on in... it is even better when there are two biggy's!

As I was thinking back at my 'awkward' stage, in the 80's, I also had a big perm on my head to create a distraction. Boys don't have that option...but, it all goes away too soon. My oldest two have finally grown into their teeth and it seems just like yesterday they appeared front & center. FYI - They get replaced with teen-ager attitude.
I thought Carter was adorable before he even had teeth, so bring on the other one!

Becca was right when she said Tyler had an extreme case of the "Big Teeth Syndrome". I used to think we might have to file them down a bit. But he has a beautiful set now and a really great smile. He didn't have to have orthodontics or anything. Maybe Carter will have the same good luck. Oh, and watch out for another "awkward stage" right around 7th or 8th grade. Somehow the nose usually gets a little out of proportion, the skin starts acting up, and they usually think they have a really great idea for their hair. Check out any Junior High yearbook and you'll know what I mean. We always still love them right through that stage too somehow. It's all good.

I love that little guys smile! At least his teeth are straight and white, and not scary looking. I love it when they still have their baby teeth, and you gotta know it will grow!!

Oh my heck!!! We are in same phases with Josh; he has one all the way and the other half-way. I know what you mean when you just say you smile and stare. We did that and now we are finally getting used to the new Josh. Fun stuff -A-

Hey Bobbi!! I love how you changed your blog-- so cute! We are still waiting for McKayla's front teeth to become loose-- so we are still waiting for the awkward stage! How fun!!! Great blog!
