DOGS...Dogs...dogs..

Rook has such a LOVE and PASSION for dogs! He loves them all--big or small. He plays with our neighbors dogs constantly and will ask me if he can live at their house so he can have a dog. I told him that I am allergic to dogs and cats, so we can't have them at our house. His preschool class had a fieldtrip to the Vet a few weeks ago and he hasn't stopped talking about it. He was sure that night that Jared was going to come home with a dog to surprise him. He won't let it go. So, I told him that maybe for his 18th birthday he could get a dog. He said, "OK" and so far he is excited about that. We will see how long it works.

What A Nightmare!!!

I had the most crazy night last night, while trying to sleep. It all started when I kept waking myself up, scratching the heck out of my eyes, ears, and throat. Then, Rook came in my room to tell me he "wet the bed." (arghhhh) Not too long after I got back to bed, I started dreaming that I had snakes all around me--even one in my bed!! I vividly remember saying a couple of prayers during that one, that I could think about something else. So.....this second dream had me sitting down to a plate of peanut butter on lettuce. It tasted really, really good to me until I realized what I was eating! In that same dream I was gulping down as much water as I could trying to clean it all out. Then, my alarm went off and it was time to wake up Carter for school. I guess that was the answer to my first nightmare. By that time, my heart was still pounding fast and furious. I don't dream too often, but when I do, it's usually about these same two things.

Just Another Day....

Isn't it funny how as time goes on, your birthday just feels more and more like any normal day? I am totally fine with it, but I always remember back to a few memorable birthdays of mine when I was younger...I loved my Birthday! Now birthdays consist of carpooling for preschool, going to the scout office for pack meeting this Thursday, kids playing, dishes, laundry, and soccer games. I guess that's why we should appreciate these kids. They help us remember that life isn't all about us and can destroy every bit of selfishness we might have as soon as they walk in the door and "need" something from you. Actually, I had a nice day. Some friends and I are going to see the "Maid of Honor" movie with Patrick Dempsey this weekend. I am sooo excited. Oh... and Carter played excellent in his soccer game and scored a goal. He told me he did it for my birthday present. How thoughtful---

Who doesn't LOVE the "Awkward" Stage?

Looking back at your old pictures, don't we all have a few that just seem a bit "awkward"? Don't get me wrong, I love this kid to death--but most times when I am trying to listen to what he is telling me, I cannot focus on anything but his front permanent tooth! You've all seen them. You've all had them. I think it's what happens between ages 7-12?? The tooth is about 4 times larger than the others and it is just there. All I can do while he is telling me about his day... is just Smile Big right back at him! I LOVE IT!

Change Is Good.....

Jared started his new job today!! He is working for United Mortgage, doing refinancing, home loans, and new construction loans. So, if any of you are in the market or know of anyone.....Jared would love to hear from you.
Jared and I have been blessed with his previous job, but he felt like it was time for change. He took a voluntary layoff out at out the INL a few weeks ago and fisnished up out there last Thursday. I think this is going to be quite an adjustment for us; we aren't used to seeing him in the mornings or at lunch. I am looking forward to our lunch dates and being able to spend more time together. I have to admit it was kind of nice to see him get up and leave for work all dressed up. We did have to do some shopping Saturday night. If anyone has any advice on their favorite dress pant, shirt brands, etc.... I am all ears.
I am excited for this new opportunity for Jared and I think he will do a Great job!

Just FABULOUS!

This is my new "favorite" cd to listen to right now! I came across her on the internet about a month ago and bought a cd for my friend's birthday and one for myself last week. Leona Lewis performed on Oprah on Monday. They said that her cd will be available on April 8th, but I got it last Saturday. HA

She is FABULOUS!! So, if you see me belting out in song in my car, pretending to be a beautiful & famous singer.....just know that I'm listening to my new "Spirit" cd, and loving every minute of it.

Man of the House

What was he doing 10 years ago?
-Single
-Living in West Yellowstone (during the week) doing electrical work at the Old Faithful Lodge.
-Just bought a house in Pocatello.
-Going home every weekend to go snowboarding with old buddies.

1- Plan mutual on Tuesday night
2- Coach the young men's basketball team Wednesday night
3- Get taxes done Friday morning in Pocatello
4- Eat nachos at the Pilot House right after tax appointment
5- Get crown put on back tooth at the dentist Saturday morning

-Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
-Swiss Cheese
-Chewy Runts


3 bad habits:
-Snacks too late at night
-Stays up too late
-Keeps all doors locked in house even when everyone is home and locks car doors when shut inside garage


What would he do if he became a billionaire?
-Buy the Yankees!
-Buy all family members a 2 year food supply.
-Continue a yearly $25.00 donation to the Friends of Scouting Fun.
